Depression: Homeless vs Housed
DSM-5 Criteria for Major Depressive Disorder
Diagnostic criteria for major depressive disorder (MDD).
Depressive symptoms≥5 symptoms during the same two week period that are a change from previous functioning; depressed mood and/or loss of interest/pleasure must be present; exclude symptoms clearly attributable to another medical condition.
I have 4 of the 5. But I was thinking along the lines of 'having to get up' because I have to not because I want to, coupled with my personality to keep busy & make it fun.
If I were housed, I'd never get out of bed.
If I were a clinician, I'd have to consider homeless circumstances. When I started therapy there was no clause to consider existing disorders or disease else all my metabolic disorders would have been uncovered. Sad.
