Ethnocentricity

Ethnocentricity refers to a belief that your culture or ethnic group is superior to another's. Ethnocentric individuals are biased in that they draw conclusions about other cultural groups based on their own cultural values, norms, and traditions.

Pick a map, look up info, look at images but remember people, in their natural surroundings, are considered the norm; until you come to the USA, then you're picked apart & judged usually by White measuring sticks:

1. Skin color

2. Predisposed opinion in place

3. Language spoken

4. Attire

5. Choice of religion

6. Sexual preference

7. Diet & food preparation

8. Music

Etc, etc

I raised my kids to love what you regardless of the above because it has no relevence [unless you've an awesome recipe for me 🤣]

Soooo, a normal week for us would be

Jewish food: hallah, matzoh ball soup, braised chicken [me]

Armenian food: kabob, roasted tomato, lavash hummus, tabouli, spicy yogurt sauce [the original kabob glendale]

Mexican food: Tacos de lengua, chips, ceviche, tamales, horchata, beans, rice, churros [me]

Japanese food: Sushi, miso soup, salad, special tea [couple places we went to]

Italian food: Lasagna, stuffed mushroom caps, garlic bread, antipasto salad [me]

Seafood: Variety, Italian based at The Ramp

BBQ ala me & Mike. Veggie pockets, steak, chicken, potatoes, salad, fruit bowl, or upside down cake

.... quite the mix. We sampled as many countries, in terms of food, on a regular basis. Because we're not racist, biased babies.
