Anti-Speeding Community Prevention Program - Thou Shalt Not Speed



* mass media efforts [tv, radio, channel 6, signage, car decals, buttons, promotional events, YouTube]

* educational component that addresses perceived risk

* drivers sign a commitment to slow down

* PD to publish, separately, speeders/racers, reckless drivers, etc

* Pre and post tickets, amount of cars speeding

* age appropriate programs in school, i.e. every 15 minutes, etc

* coffee with a cop; what can residents & businesses do to slow down traffic

* How do I slow down my neighborhood drivers? Park your car in the street, and get your neighbors to do the same. Parallel parking narrows the travel lane, naturally slowing traffic. Park cars on both sides to force drivers to slow down even more. Ask for traffic calming from your local public works department.
