City of Burbank, Downtown Burbank, Burbank Police, Downtown Burbank Ambassadors Helping to Spread Covid-19 and other Diseases

Image
Know that when you see that little, miniature white car, that their logos are nothing but a façade. The bathrooms are nasty as are the grounds. But the most worrisome is the lack of supervision and security and the outcome of this status. Many bus / train station patrons will tell you that there is lack of security, security that does nothing, and that the station has gone down hill. That said, the lack of security sends a clear message to the bus drivers and patrons: smoking anything is okay, and is drinking. Many patrons know they are free to smoke whatever right on the train platform in front of other patrons. Additionally, there are non-bus / train patrons that specifically come down to the station just to drink and/or smoke. No one cares. Both Metro trains and busses require masks, but no where in their orientation or solo send-off is anything about NOT smoking around others. At Oceanside, I saw an Amtrak conductor get off the train directing riders ... while he vaped. I videotape...

Stupidity & Ignorance at its Best: Choose a labeling Name

Is “transient” considered a derogatory term? It is a technical term meaning ‘temporary’ or ‘of short duration’ e.g. A voltage transient. Transient Lunar Phenomena. A Transient Ischaemic Attack. It can also be used in a non-derogatory way about people. e.g. “The earthquake led to some very large transient populations in neighbouring regions” But like almost any other word, it can be used as an insult. (Particularly if coupled with a tone of voice a ‘bad-smell’ upturning of the nose) e.g. “I hate going to the railway station. There are so many… transients!” (In that case it is being used to mean, ‘tramp’, ‘bum’, ‘homeless person’, ‘ ~ Would you ...? Homelessness Myth #7: "Oh, No! A Transient!" It's time to stop using the word, "transient," to refer to homeless people. How should we refer to people without homes? Just that way... we can say, "people without homes, "homeless people." What Happens When You Wipe Your Nose With Your Hand or Finger

Image
People who touch or rub under the nose with the index finger are feeling some tension and stress, or even fear to let others know what they really think of. Because the gesture means that they are trying to relieve the tension or stress that they feel. lol Pneumonia-causing bacteria can be spread by nose picking and rubbing Pneumonia-causing bacteria can be spread through picking and rubbing the nose, according to new research published in the European Respiratory Journal. Pneumococcus, the bacteria that can cause pneumonia, is known to be spread through inhalation of airborne droplets containing the bacteria, for example in coughs and sneezes. This study is the first to show that transmission can also occur via contact between the nose and the hands after exposure to pneumococcus bacteria. The study found that bacteria can spread at the same rate whether it is dry or wet, and at the same rate when a person picks or pokes their nose as when they rub their nose. The results suggest that...

The Bridges of LA

Image
1. Vincent Thomas Bridge Vincent Thomas Bridge Credit: Amatullah Guyot This is one of my favorite bridges in LA, located in San Pedro, it spans 1,500 feet over the LA Harbor linking San Pedro with Terminal Island. The beauty of this bridge is that you can see it from the 110 fwy, while boating below or even just driving across it. Tip: Park your car near the Fanfare Fountains off of Harbor Blvd,  and enjoy the dancing water show along with a magnificent view of the bridge- makes for a nice picture at night. 2. Colorado Street Bridge Colorado Street Bridge Pasadena Credit: Amatullah Guyot Also known as suicide bridge, this old bridge in Pasadena is nice to drive over for a scenic view of old town and the surrounding area. Tip: You can burn a few calories by biking or walking across the bridge for a wide shot of the bridge OR explore it by parking your car at La Casita Del Arroyo and hiking under (around the bridge) to see how spectacular it is, I dare you not to take a picture....
